Meet Rockhopper!

Rockhopper is a converted 2008 International MXT, (most extreme truck), limited production 4×4 that has been modified for the most extreme terrain: South Pole!

Engine:
Under its massive hood is a custom-installed Cummins 6BT 12-valve turbo diesel with 210 horsepower replacing the original 350 horsepower VT365 V8 diesel engine; supplementing the lower HP engine and delivering an additional 72 horsepower is the G-Force Hybrid Drive System.

Fuel Consumption:
Original engine was 9.8 mpg (4.17 km/L) with a curb weight of 10,661 lbs/4,846 kg compared to the Cummins Fuel consumption of 9.5 mpg (4.04 km/L) with a curb weight of 13,424 lbs /6,019 kg and with the use of the G-Force Hybrid Drive System, a whopping 12.4 mpg (5.27 km/L) with curb weight of 13,424 lbs / 6,019 kg.

Drivetrain:
5 speed manual transmission, 2 speed NP 273 transfer case, custom drive shafts, YS series Mattracks with steering assist, air ride suspension and cab, 5.30:1 differential gear, locker rear and limited slip front.
